Hailing from El Paso, TX, Anthony Pacheco is a skilled freelance musician and private lessons teacher. His musical journey began at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in Fall 2016, where he excelled as a versatile drummer and percussionist. At UTEP, he was actively involved in the Marching Band, Symphony Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensembles. He also played with the El Paso Youth Jazz Ensemble and the El Paso Eklectic Jazz Ensemble, and contributed to local middle and high school Jazz Band Rhythm Sections.
In Fall 2021, Anthony transferred to Texas State University (TSU), where he graduated in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor’s in Jazz Performance. During his time at TSU, he performed with the Texas State Jazz Ensemble and various combos, while also establishing himself in the vibrant Austin/San Antonio music scene. His performances spanned multiple genres including Jazz, Blues, Tejano/Cumbias, Rockabilly, Country, Funk, and Rock.
Anthony has taught private lessons to students of all ages and worked as a full-time Drum Instructor with RMT Music LLC in Central Texas. His diverse performance credits include collaborations with renowned artists such as Jon Blondell, Tito Carrillo, Ruben Ramos And The Mexican Revolution, LA 45, The Coasters, Chris Duarte Group, Sunny Ozuna, Chris Cuevas Project, Brad Stivers and Lindsay Beaver, Sam Barlow, and Abe Mac Band He is now pursuing his Master’s in Jazz Studies at Texas Tech University, where he looks forward to building young minds and collaborating with a great faculty and musicians in Lubbock!
